The printable inkjet vinyl works very well. You should spray a UV clear such as
Clear Shield or Krylon UV clear for a better look and prevent pigment color fade. The best protection would be a UV clear film laminate. The biggest problem is controlling the print quality and the ink load, but that is a software issue. I have use this type of material with an Epson 1100 without any problems.

An update...... the mactac inkjet vinyl is the best I have printed on with my Epson 1100 and an Epson 7700. Match with the mactac UV laminate and you will have the an outstanding combination. The vinyl and laminate handles like high performance. The print vinyl also takes spray UV laminate (solvent for waterbase ink, ) very well. I prefer to use film for better handling. You can print and cut with Roland or the Graphtec optical eye cutters from your desktop printers from Corel Draw or Illustrator using the cutters respective cut software. I have been using CoCut Pro with both of my inkjets printing from Corel Draw and contour cutting. CoCut works from within Corel Draw.Shil, Kapco, Gregory and Fellers all sell their ink jet material but none compares the MacTac.
